Review by Nathan Milarta

"Fire in the Sky" brings you to the South Pacific in New Guinea and the Solomon Islands in World War II.  A ruthless struggle of air war from the air forces of Japan, the United States, Australia and New Zealand Fight for Freedom and resources.

Eric Bergerud brings to you an intricate detailed profile of the air war in the South Pacific in the first two years of the war.

Bergerud explains disease, supply inefficiency, the climate, primitive geography that hindered military operations for both sides and how things effect each side differently by aircraft types and aircrew training.

The book itself is 668 pages of reading material with data charts and information in the back of the book.  Plus maps of the researched area in the front of the book.  Overall, there are seven chapters with mini like parts in each of them.

Eric explains it himself yet with a historians touch.  Along with personal accounts by these who were there.

It is an entertaining book none the less and you will notice.  this is a great book for the buffs, historians, or someone that just wants to read a good historically account of our past of the days of World War II in the south Pacific.

Good day to you and thank you for your time.
