KB-50 w/F100s This is an early variant of a KB 50 notice fuel tanks under the wings
which were replaced with J47 engines when Hayes Aircraft Co. modified the B 50 to make them
Faster and they became KB 50 J and K modifications.

This
is the ramp at Pope AFB the day before we invaded the Dominican Republic.
It was going to be an air drop but ended up being an air assault by landing
instead. The Author's (Gawell's) aircraft for the invasion.

This
was a ground proximity extraction (No landing). Look
in the aft and see the door down and the extraction hook extended.
It had a radio transmitter attached so when it dragged on the ground it set up a
tone to give you your altitude.
